Steve Tait is the T8 First Response Instructor Trainer and teaches both courses and oversees the T8FR instructors and course offering.  Steve initial stepped into the world of first response during his early career in the UK military and on leaving further developed his skills in the UK.  Since qualifying with EFR he has instructed over 700 individuals in Hong Kong, Macau and across the region including medical professionals, teachers, aviators, sports coaches, sailors, corporate professionals, adventure runners and a myriad of others.

Abigail Tibbetts

Abigail Tibbetts is a registered paramedic with the Health and Care Professions Council in the UK. Abigail began her career with West Midlands Ambulance service in 2013 and is currently on a sabbatical from the role as a paramedic; however she is still closely linked to the service and operates on the front line whenever she is in the UK. Within Hong Kong Abigail thoroughly enjoys her role as a health and first aid coordinator at Discovery Bay International School and she has recently had the privilege to train as a first aid instructor with T8 First Response. Abigail is passionate about first aid and emergency care.

Dr Heidi Petrick has worked as a full time chiropractor for over 20 years in both Hong Kong and Australia. She gained her Bachelor of Science Degree through the University of New South Wales’ Medical School (1993), followed by her Master’s Degree in Chiropractic at Macquarie University (1996). Since then she has delved extensively into postgraduate studies in Pediatric care, Ergonomics and Neuromusculoskeletal Diagnostics. She was the sole chiropractor to the Hong Kong Football Club for 12 years. In this capacity she worked with many athletes, attending to their sporting injuries and facilitating their rehabilitation programs.

As a surf lifesaver Dr Petrick became involved with emergency CPR, often encouraging sporting buddies, colleagues and patients to become actively involved in First Aid. 

She has now proudly qualified as a First Aid Instructor with EFR, and will join the T8 team in teaching ILCOR Emergency First Response to the public.

Benjamin Chiu

Ben is an Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA) registered paramedic with a Postgraduate Certificate Advanced in critical care and community care, a Bachelor of Paramedic Practice and BSc Sports Science Graduate.  He has over 4 years emergency care experience both in Australia and New Zealand. He is passionate about education and has been involved in the teaching and mentoring of new paramedics. He is now taking some time away from frontline ambulance work to focus his attention on medical school aspirations. Outside of his medical background Ben is also heavily involved in sports coaching and outdoor activities.
