This is a foundational Primary and Secondary, CPR and AED course that combines the skills needed to assist an adult and with the skills related to infants and care for children. This course is designed for Sports Coaches, Personal Trainers and side-line First Aiders who work with both adults and children in a sporting setting.

 

The program consists of a combination of two core components plus additional skills:

  • Primary Care & Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) – Adult & Child
  • Secondary Care (Assessment First Aid) – Adult & Child

 

Course Content Primary Care:

Sports risk assessment, scene assessment, barrier use, primary assessment, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, automated external defibrillator (AED) use serious bleeding management, shock management, spinal injury management, conscious and unconscious choking management and concussion.

 

Course Content Secondary Care (First Aid):

Injury assessment, illness assessment, bandaging, splinting for sprains, strains, dislocations and fractures, the management of allergic reactions (incl. anaphylaxis), asthma, bruises, burns, cuts, dental injuries, diabetic problems, drowning, impact injuries, heat exhaustion, heatstroke, heart attack (signs and symptoms) and sports first aid kit assembly

Primary & Secondary Care With AED & O2 For Sports Coaches & Trainers

  • 8-9 hrs (2 x 4.5hrs sessions or can be done in one day)
